Ashcroft

Central Café - Ashcroft, BC

Went to the Central Cafe for lunch. It's a quaint little cafe in the village of Ashcroft. The cafe has a Facebook page and a website if you care to check out a sample menu.

We started with some home made iced tea and peppermint tea. ($1.49; $2.29)

Olympic 2010 Torch Event - Ashcroft, BC

This event happened quite a while back, however I hadn't gotten around to blogging about it. This was Day 100 of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay. It was scheduled to come through the communities of Cache Creek and Ashcroft. Ashcroft had a little community get together in their downtown core.

It involved various entertainment throughout the day. They also provided snacks and that's what I'll comment on in this instalment of Love of Eating.

Double Dare Establishments

Y'know those restaurants that you drive by on some road trip, and you think to yourself, "Argh, I wonder how is the food there?" (often assuming it's bad...) or "Seriously, does anybody eat there?" The places when even if you're starving after driving for hours (and skipping a meal to make better driving time), you think, "um...hellz no, I'm not eating there!"

These places are Double Dare Establishments. For the purposes of this blog I will make an effort to pull over and try some of these places and blog about them. Don't get me wrong I do have a genuine curiosity about these places, and I am looking forward to seeing what they have to offer.
