Ajisai Sushi - Vancouver, BC

I’ve been cooling it with sushi lately, but due to an extended stay in Vancouver I find myself in Kerrisdale. Well now, I decide to treat myself to a roll or two. Ajisai Sushi is a compact Japanese restaurant. The floor space is a bit awkward but it works. It’s elbow to elbow in here today, but I find bar seating in front of the window.

Assorted Sashimi ($16.00)

Congee Noodle House - Vancouver, BC

Congee Noodle House is a reliable spot to get cheap, fast eats. I haven’t been here in yonks, but it’s nice to know its still here. Congee Noodle House is one of the restaurants you can count on to be open late in the Broadway and Main area. So here we are. It’s late, and I’m a bit nibbly.

Soy Pork Hock with Noodle ($7.25)

Serendipi Tea - Abbotsford, BC

On the road again... I stop for afternoon tea in Abbotsford at Serendipi Tea.
The space is very feminine with dainty china and shabby-chic décor. Pretty little tea house.

Afternoon Tea Service ($18.95 per person)

Ploughman's Lunch and Coffee - Kamloops, BC

Why hello Kamloops, long time no see. I’m sleeping in my own bed for a few nights. I’m home just long enough for me to do some laundry and repack for another foray on the road soon. Thankfully, I find the time to mosey over to the Ploughman’s Lunch and Coffee on Victoria Street in Kamloops' downtown core.

Route 97 Diner - Westwold, BC

Since this is the second time I have to do this Okanagan-Vancouver-Vancouver Island circle tour, we decide to take Highway 97 this time around. There’s an old Ford Bronco that catches my eye on the property, next to The Route 97 Diner in Westwold. We stop to investigate and grab some grub.

Phở Fusion - Vernon, BC

Seriously, phở again? Yeah, seriously phở again. We stop for lunch on our way out of Vernon. It’s early, before noon and Phở Fusion just opened. There are already a few tables occupied when we arrive.
Despite the name, there is not much fusion going on here. The menu is straight up Vietnamese.

Young Coconut Juice ($3.00)

Vietnam Village - Kelowna, BC

Phở again? Yes, phở again. I’m curious about beef noodle soup in Kelowna. I’ve been to the Vietnam Village before. Years ago. I can’t remember if it had the same name when I first visited. I have no idea if it is under the same ownership either. It still looks the same.

Phở Sóc Trăng - Kelowna, BC

Phở again? Yes, phở again. I find myself in Kelowna again, it turns out that my schedule has me doing the same loop I just finished. First Okanagan, then the Coast, and back out to Vancouver Island. I feel like I haven't been home for weeks.

Phở Galaxy - Chilliwack, BC

Who knew there is phở bò in the ‘Wack? This is a drive by discovery. All I recall seeing is the word "phở"and "Grand Opening." That's all it takes for me sometimes. I made a mental note to stop here on our way home from the coast.
