Lemonade Gluten Free Bakery - Vancouver, BC

My temporary apartment happens to be in quick walking proximity to Cambie Village and its various shops. Here’s some of the gluten free goodness I found at Lemonade Bakery on Cambie Street. It’s just a few doors down from Las Tortas.

Crackle Crème- Vancouver, BC

Crème brûlée. A shop dedicated to Crème brûlée? Yes, please.
I'm all moved into my temporary digs in Vancouver and today I'm on my way to the Powell Street Festival this afternoon. I thought I'd indulge in some burnt sugar and custard, before heading down to this annual Japanese cultural event.

Crackle Crème is located on Union Street in between Harvest Community Foods and a bike shop. Conveniently right along the Adanac Bikeway, if you happen to be cycling.

The Crazy & The German Bakery Cafe - Kamloops, BC

The Crazy & The German. Interesting name for a bakery café, eh? Anyhoo, I’m here for a bite of lunch before I attempt to put a dent in my lofty To-Do list this afternoon. I like to combine my “to do” list with my grocery list so, it makes for a long list.

The Crazy and The German café is located in the Library Square development across the parking lot from The White Spot in the Holiday Inn on Tranquille Road. The display case is loaded with freshly baked German pastries and I’m super excited about what will follow me home today.

Mon Petit Choux Cafe Bakery - Nanaimo, BC

Winter is coming.
No seriously, it's getting cold. The days are so short now, even with the time change. The time change used to always mess me up. I’d be at work and I'd end up calling staff wondering why they were late.
Breakfast time at Mon Petit Choux. It’s been awhile since the last time I was here for a coffee and tangy lemon tart, click here for that visit.

Latte ($3.50; soy add .50 cents)

Perkins Coffee Company - Nanaimo, BC

One of the reasons why I love the summer months is the extended amount of daylight we get. I like to get out and about early in the morning and having daylight from 5am onwards makes my mornings so much more bearable. The downside to being out at the same time as the street sweeping machine is that an option for a hot beverage and morning pastry is sometimes difficult.

Sandrine French Pastry and Chocolate - Kelowna, BC

I hope all of you enjoyed your long weekend. Here’s a quick post while I'm in Kelowna. As everyone else is in a breakfast meeting this A.M., I sneak over to Sandrine French Pastry and Chocolate for a quick coffee and some morning snacks. Shhh, I’ll be back before anyone notices.

La Boulangerie Sandrine is located in a strip mall on the corner of Harvey Avenue and Dilworth Drive.

Chocolatine ($2.75)

Hollandia Bakery Café - Malmö, Sweden

It’s almost time to come home. My last major stop is Sweden and I thought I’d include a quick post in Malmö. Although the winter weather is arguably on the milder side, the wind and crisp air still makes my face numb. Time to warm up with some hot liquids and treats at Hollandia. Konditori Hollandia is a bakery café in Malmö, Sweden.

Lightfoot Gas Station Bakery - Lillooet, BC

It's gorgeous in Lillooet right now with the snow. A true winter wonderland. There's much more white stuff on the ground than the above photo.

It's a Gas-Station-Eats day. (Click here for my other Gas Station posts.)
I'm eating lunch, from the Lightfoot Gas Station Bakery, with some colleagues in Lillooet.
Yes, a gas station, but there's a bakery attached to it that provides simple homemade soup n' sandwich fare. Did you know they cater too? Half of the station is a a bakery and the other half is, well, a petrol stop and convenience store.

Laura's Pies at Gourmet Greens - Kamloops, BC

While standing in line at the check out at Gourmet Greens Produce Market, I peer into the freezer display. What do I find? Pie. That’s what.

Laura's Pies is a little pie company based in Salmon Arm. Laura Peterson makes her homemade pies with much of the bounty from A&L Peterson Orchards, which is part of the Peterson Brothers Heritage Orchards in Salmon Arm. Do you know of the Peterson Brothers Orchards? What a rich history they have in the BC interior. This past September the Ministry of Agriculture presented the Peterson Family Farm with the Century Farm Award.

Ranch Café - Falkland, BC

I spent the entire morning going to different stores trying to find a specific type of re-usable hand warmer. Totally random, I know. The issue is: I need nine of them. Nine or nothing. I’ve already scoured Kelowna and West Kelowna, and only found a total of six. Argh.
