Breakfast

The Painted Pony Cafe - Kamloops, BC

Today I'm in Kamloops looking for breakfast while waiting for my skis to be waxed.
Hello Painted Pony! Fried dough will always find me. The pony is hitched up at the corner of 7th and Victoria Street, in the old Papa Tee's location, across from the Kamloops Curling Club.

Mittz Kitchen - Kamloops, BC

Hi ya Kamloops! I have to go to a meeting in Kelowna tomorrow so it allows me to sneak in town for some food today. I find myself downtown and hungry during that glorious stretch of time where you can choose between either the brunch menu or lunch menu. (It really is the little things that keep me happy, isn't it?)

I don't have any particular place in mind, so I use my trusty Park n' Scarf method of finding eats. This method is very technical: I find a parking space, park, and then scarf down at an eatery that is within ten steps from aforementioned parking space. It works for me.

Papa G's Cafe - Kamloops, BC

I have to head out of town later today, so I thought I’d start the day with breakfast out.
Papa G’s Cafe is located at the old Jill’s Café space, in an industrial enclave on McGill Road.

I’ve been neglecting things lately. I wish I could say I’ve been busy with projects or hard at work, but I’ve been MIA from all my responsibilities for something quite ridiculous.

Phat Albert's Weekday Cafe - Cache Creek, BC

A couple of years ago I gave up 91 minutes of my life to watching a low budge movie called Thirst. There is a small scene in the movie where the characters stop to eat in a diner. In real life, and in the movie, the diner was called Nag’s Stop. Nag’s Stop closed a while ago, but after some time elapsed the eatery re-opened as Phat Albert’s Weekday Café.

Danforth Deli: Breakfast - Nanaimo, BC

**UPDATE 2014: Sadly Danforth Deli is now closed. Nooooo!!....Why!??**

Okay, I know I’ve already posted about Danforth Deli before. They are currently in the midst of relocation so I’ll push out my posts about them since all my visits will refer to their original location. Just two more quick write-ups and I’ll leave it at that. This one will be about breakfast.

I usually come here for lunch, but I made an effort to get down here in time for their morning offerings.

Mon Petit Choux Cafe Bakery - Nanaimo, BC

Winter is coming.
No seriously, it's getting cold. The days are so short now, even with the time change. The time change used to always mess me up. I’d be at work and I'd end up calling staff wondering why they were late.
Breakfast time at Mon Petit Choux. It’s been awhile since the last time I was here for a coffee and tangy lemon tart, click here for that visit.

Latte ($3.50; soy add .50 cents)

Two Chefs Affair - Nanaimo, BC

After a detour to Ashcroft for produce I am back to the regular scheduled programming...Do you see what I mean about procrastinating?

2 Chefs Affair is a casual breakfast-lunch eatery located on Commercial Street just across from the Nanaimo public library. I am still working on a project that was due days ago. However, I have secured an extension. Thanks god.
I hit up 2 Chefs Affair as soon as they open, in order to get working straight away.

Tina's Diner - Nanaimo - BC

Good morning Nanaimo. I feel like noshing on a diner breakfast this morning and Tina's Diner fit the descriptor. Tina’s is located on Commercial Street in Nanaimo’s downtown core. As you can see it is right beside Gabriel’s Café. Click here to read about my pork wrap and curry bowl at Gabriel’s.

The Bread Company - Kelowna, BC

I need a little breakfast before I start a full day today, so this morning and I’m here at The Bread Company. I love eateries that open early, and the Bread Co. opens conveniently at 6:00am on weekdays. Seriously, there are very few sit down places that open early and can provide a well made coffee and solid morning fare before 6:30am. The Bread Company bakery café is located on Bernard Street in downtown Kelowna.

Bellringer Espresso Bus - Kamloops, BC

The Bellringer Espresso Bus is usually parked somewhere on the Farmers Market grounds. I don’t need a lot of produce today so I thought it would be an opportune time to stop for a little feast. (I’m less inclined to stop for eats when my multiple canvas bags weigh me down like an overworked mule.)

The espresso bus is popular! There is a short line up of coffee lovers in front of the vehicle for most of the morning. The Bellringer Bus is open for breakfast and lunch, and of course great coffee drinks can be had all morning and afternoon.
