Burger & Cafe JOY - Kamloops, BC

Jeez, June has been busy! So busy, that I feel I deserve a burger today. Since Burger & Café Joy is inside the Sahali Mall it’s a good way to wait out the rain. (What is up with all this rain? I thought I moved away from this.) It’s been some time since I last chatted about Burger & Café JOY; this place can bring you all kinds of happiness.

Passek's Classics Cafe - Kamloops, BC

Passek’s Classics Café has had their new menu items out for a while now. After a morning of weeding and planting, I reward myself with some breakfast at Passek’s Classics. My fingers tend to swell up like sausages when I do yard work. Mmm...sausages. Today is a warm sunny morning, and many others have the same idea this a.m. to indulge in breakfast out.

Passek's has pulled pork on the menu...for breakfast.

Cheryl's Place Restaurant - Cache Creek, BC

Cheryl’s Place is located just off the Cariboo Highway in a dusty parking lot, attached to the Petro Can Gas Station, beside the Bear’s Claw Lodge in Cache Creek. Not only is it a truck stop, it’s a Grey Hound stop too.

Carolyn's Cozy Cafe - Kamloops, BC

Still on my breakfast kick. This is Carolyn’s. Is it still called Carolyn’s Cozy Café? In any event, Carolyn’s is a DDE located amongst the buildings that make up the Acadian Motor Inn on Columbia Street.

Heartland Family Restaurant - Cache Creek, BC

Hello Cache Creek, it’s been a while. The Heartland Family Restaurant is a diner attached to the Sandman Hotel in Cache Creek, BC. Heartland is located across the street from the Husky Gas Station Restaurant and next door to the Lordco.

Harold's Family Restaurant - Kamloops, BC

I am on my way to Princess Auto this fine morning, and I’ll need a breakfast stop. Princess Auto stocks some pretty random things in their inventory. It's not just auto. The last time I was there, I found melamine airline dinnerware, next to cigar cutters! My legitimate reason for being at Princess Auto is for jack stands, but that’s just an excuse to peruse their aisles. It doesn’t take much to entertain me, does it?

Harold’s Family Restaurant is located just minutes down the street for a quick morning meal.

Wood Fire Bakery - Kelowna, BC

The Wood Fire Bakery is conveniently located on the main throughway in Kelowna, on the corner of Harvey Avenue and Barlee Road. I have several stops to make today. When I have to travel anywhere for work reasons I try to get some non work related errands done as well. I often end up trying to cram in way too many “to-do” items on my list.

I feel like I’ve been criss crossing the Bill Bennett Bridge all morning. I hate having to double back. I must’ve passed the Wood Fire Bakery a few times already this morning, before allowing myself a break for a quick lunch. Can anyone say no to Schweinshaxe? Clearly, I can not.

Authentic Teriyaki Burger and Cafe JOY - Kamloops, BC

Yōshoku in Kamloops? There is now yōshoku in Kamloops, in the form of Authentic Teriyaki Burger and Café JOY. Don’tcha love the name? It’s the kind of name that you must read several times and experiment with different ways of saying it. Look at the signage. It’s almost as if JOY is an afterthought. It looks so lonely way out there on the right. Tell me JOY, are you part of the name or just an interjection of happiness?

Is it:
|Authentic Teriyaki Burger| and |Café JOY|

Or is it:
|Authentic Teriyaki Burger and Café,| JOY!

Or could it be:

The Airport Coffee Shop - Chilliwack, BC

I love going airports. Whether I’m picking someone up or flying away for travel, airports are fun places to be. I’ve had my share of airport delays and other issues, but it all seems to work out in the end.
